| Every year, hundreds of backpacks are supplied to children in the
Lake County area. After working with many schools over the last
several years, we have discovered a need to supply school supplies to
children that would normally begin school without the items necessary.
We help provide them with a positive start to the school year.
Some of the items required by teachers and school districts include a
specific type of scissors, calculator, folders, markers, crayons, rulers
and ink pens. Each backpack filled is valued at approximately
$25.00. We need your participation and support to continue this incredible program. We encourage not only your tax deductible donation, but also invite you to join our committee to help with fundraising or donate some of the items required. All backpacks are delivered before registration and are distributed through the schools. The rewards reaped from the deliveries made are indeed priceless. Beginning a new school year is an exciting time in a child's life, but hard for that young boy or girl to start school knowing that not only do they now have new outfits or shoes, but they have to go without the "list" of items the teacher requires. We may never know all the success stories. Every human being needs to feel valued and have a sense of self-worth in order to be successful. We are confident that many children will be excited about learning, about school and feel good about themselves because they know they have a "new backpack filled with everything they need for school" because someone thought they deserved it.
